UNSW Canberra has an opportunity for a Research Associate – Trusted Autonomy. You will conduct basic-research in Learning and Reasoning in Swarm robotics at The Trusted Autonomy Lab, University of New South Wales, Canberra Campus, Australia. The appointment initially will be for 1 year with performance-based extension up to 3 years.

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • A PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Published in at least one of the following areas: Reinforcement Learning, Neural Networks, Context Free Grammar, and Grammar Guided Genetic Programming.
  • Knowledge in Swarm Intelligence, Multi-agent Systems and/or Distributed Ontology.
  • A demonstrated understanding of physics and calculus.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse range of students and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships
  • Ability and capacity to implement required UNSW health and safety and knowledge of equal opportunity principles
