The ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) is a multi-disciplinary research centre administered by the University of New South Wales with nodes at the Australian National University, the University of Melbourne, the University of Sydney and the University of Western Australia and 16 official partners drawn from industry, government and academe.

About the position

  • $103,047 - $121,478 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
  • 3 Years Fixed Term, Full Time

CEPAR seeks to appoint a suitably qualified person to join a research team focused on aged-based social policy and business practice in Asia.

The Research Fellow (Level B Academic) will conduct high quality research on projects focused on population ageing in Asia and its implications for labour markets, health and long-term care and support the development of collaborative research projects. The role will involve the development and assessment of models, software, databases and computational techniques for the research project; the analysis and interpretation of data; collaboration with national and international researchers; and communication of results.

About the successful applicant

The successful applicant will hold a PhD in in Economics, Econometrics or a related discipline, or be close to completion of a PhD. In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent computing and data analysis skills; an outstanding research record in a relevant area, relative to opportunity; the ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary research team; and excellent communication skills.
