Funded in November 2012 by the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council, the Centre of Research Excellence in Mental Health and Substance Use (CREMS), at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, aims to build research capacity through the generation of innovative new research regarding the effective prevention and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. These aims are achieved via three main research streams focusing on the prevention, treatment, and epidemiology, of comorbid mental health and substance use disorders. An integral component of the CREMS is the translation of these research findings into policy, training and practice; thereby expanding our capacity to respond to comorbidity nationally and internationally. 


About the role

  • $83K - $89K per annum plus (9.5% superannuation and leave loading)
  • 8 months Fixed Term with the possibility of extension
  • Full-time (35 hours per week)

We are seeking a motivated individual with an interest in research management and dissemination. This position will build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and key representative bodies to support the dissemination of two online portals funded by The Australian Government Department of Health to develop and house evidence-based online substance use prevention and treatment resources for the community. In particular, the position will be responsible for stakeholder liaison and dissemination of the Positive Choices (https://positivechoices.org.au/) and Cracks in the Ice (https://cracksintheice.org.au/) online portals to their respective target audiences.

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification Tertiary qualification in health promotion, communications, marketing or public health
  • Demonstrated ability to write for web, social media and print, with an understanding of what constitutes good copy across all media
  • Advanced digital administration and analytics skills, including Google Analytics, Hootsuite (or similar) and website content management systems
  • Experience working autonomously to complete tasks within set timelines and budgets
